Thomas is an Associate in our Energy, Projects, Infrastructure and Construction (EPIC) team. He advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters across the sector, advising private and public sector clients including contractors, sub-contractors, government bodies, and manufacturers.
Thomas works on all aspects of transactional construction matters, from project inception to completion and post-completion asset management, including in connection with dispute resolution arising out of and in connection with such projects.
Thomas is experienced with major standard form contracts like JCT and NEC, as well as drafting bespoke and sector-specific contracts. Thomas also drafts key ancillary documents, including collateral warranties, consultant appointments, framework agreements, deeds of variation, letters of intent, pre-construction services agreements, and letters of reliance.
On the contentious side, Thomas has experience of mediation, arbitration as well as adjudications, including contribution to a major decision on serial adjudications handed down in the Court of Appeal. Thomas works closely with commercial property and banking teams on high value funding arrangements.
Prior to his training contract Thomas worked in-house as a corporate paralegal for the General Counsel and Company Secretary of a major car multi-franchise dealer business.
Outside of work, Thomas enjoys hiking, playing rugby and supporting his beloved Manchester City.
