Kristina is a Senior Associate in the Commercial, Tech & Data team, focusing on data protection and tech/cyber security matters. Kristina has had a varied career working across private practice in the city, government, regulators and in-house.
She has a strong background of advising in the context of the heavily regulated financial services sector with roles at HM Treasury, FCA, and inhouse at Barclays Bank & Danske Bank.
Kristina has also headed up DPO functions at Danske Bank (based in Copenhagen) and Durham University (UK). And therefore, has on the ground experience of managing complex data protection issues for entities with global data flows in challenging regulatory contexts.
Kristina joined Foot Anstey from the ICO where she was the regulators’ principal lawyer for cyber security regulation and brings with her a valuable insight into the ICO’s operations and approach when considering breaches of the legislation by businesses and reporting obligations.

- Advising ICO across all cyber related GDPR and NIS breach matters, development of guidance and advice on future regulation in relation to cybersecurity and data protection.
- Data Protection Officer and Head of Information Governance for Durham University running a full DPO service for the University as well as advising on other data governance matters such as Freedom of Information requests.
- Deputy DPO – Head of Data Protection & IT Regulatory compliance for Danske Bank – building a full-service compliance function for Data Protection and IT regulatory compliance including delivering DPO functions for Danske Bank Group.
