Flavia is a bilingual Australian qualified lawyer who, during the course of her career, has regularly advised national and international contractors, developers, contractors and insurers in both contentious and non-contentious work in the construction and upstream, downstream, and renewable energy sectors.

Her work experience has primarily centred on advising in matters usually arising out of contractual and/or insurance disputes in the onshore/offshore energy, property, and construction sectors and often involve pollution incidents, defective part claims, liability claims, contractual claims, coverage disputes and physical damage.

Flavia has also acted for clients across various judicial proceedings (TCC, Commercial Courts, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court) and at mediations/arbitrations.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors and regularly goes on road and camping trips.

Expertise

  • Advising a UK based contractor (and interested parties) in connection with an £8m+ arising from a water pipe strike during construction of a solar farm.
  • Acting as Defence for a large international engineering firm following issue of a EURO 32m claim for alleged negligent M&E designs leading to delays of a EURO 220m development project.
  • Acting for an international contractor involved in the building and maintenance of bulk storage tanks, gasholders and heat exchangers for the oil, gas, steel and chemical industries following a GBP15m claim for breach of damages and an indemnity in connection with manufacture, supply and installation and commissioning of a gasholder at a UK steelworks plant.
  • Defending a large European engineering services company, in mediation and subsequent ongoing proceedings, for a EURO 34m claim for breach of contract, negligence, and breach of duty and statutory duty and mis-representation involving the design and construction of a cable-stay road bridge.
