What's in this episode?
In the final episode of our first season, our experts discuss gifts left in wills to charity, why they are given and the impact they have.
In this episode, Anna & Marina are joined by Lucy Gill, Head of Charities at Foot Anstey, Chari Hingorani, Associate Director of Legacies Engagement at the Stroke Association and Louise Speer, Legacy Team Manager at the RNLI.
Our experts begin by giving an overview of how people can give to charity, with Louise and Cheri discussing the huge impact the gifts their charities receive have made. They then discuss the power of smaller gifts, which make up a large amount of donations charities receive.
The team discuss how some legacy wishes can be difficult to carry out, highlighting how important it is to leave legacy gifts as unrestricted as possible.
Finally, they share how their charities acknowledge gifts in a respectful and considerate way, before discussing whether the current levels of generous giving are likely to continue.
