Join us for an insightful session on how lawyers can become champions of climate action.
Could you explain the social value of your job to a five-year-old?
Neither could Matthew Gingell - at least, not at first. But his determination to answer that question led to the founding of The Chancery Lane Project, an international charity that pioneers solutions for a sustainable future through the legal sector. Over recent years, Matthew’s work has inspired the drafting of climate-conscious legislation, earned multiple accolades and fuels ongoing change across the legal profession and beyond.
It's fair to say we can't all start international charities - so what can we do? Following the pivotal COP29 conference this November in Baku, Azerbaijan, Matthew will join Kee Evans, Principal Director in Foot Anstey's Planning & Environment team, to discuss what the legal profession can do and how it can play a key role in addressing sustainability challenges like climate change.
COP29 brings a renewed urgency for rapid and sustained emissions reductions and a focus on climate justice and the challenges of financing the transition. This webinar will explore what that means for the legal sector and what practical steps lawyers can take in their everyday work to deliver the world's sustainability goals and support sustainable, meaningful and lasting change.
