Foot Anstey advises Rasmala on significant real estate portfolio acquisition
Firm uses its wide-ranging expertise to advise on strategic real estate portfolio acquisition by Rasmala's Long Income Fund.
National law firm Foot Anstey has advised alternative investment firm, Rasmala, on its acquisition of a nationwide portfolio of commercial real estate assets.
This marks the first collaboration between Foot Anstey and Rasmala, with the firm delivering fully integrated cross-sector legal advice spanning commercial real estate, planning, corporate tax funds and construction.
The acquisition includes a diverse portfolio of strategically located real estate across the UK, comprising:
- Travelodge, Kingston Upon Thames
- Asda, Gillingham
- Quora Retail Park in Doncaster: A 60,000 sq. ft retail park principally leased to Aldi Stores and B&M Retail through inflation-linked leases.
Zahir Nayani, Foot Anstey Partner, commented: "It's been a pleasure to support the Rasmala team on this key acquisition, bringing together a multi-disciplinary team to realise the strategic objectives of Rasmala's Long Income Fund. This deal underscores the unabating demand for the 'beds' sector in the UK. It also happened to complete in the same week as Aldi announcing its record £800m annual UK investment programme. Rasmala is a great cultural fit with our team here at Foot Anstey and we look forward to building on that synergy."
Ruggiero Lomonaco, Head of Real Estate Funds, commented: "Foot Anstey’s deep expertise has been instrumental in delivering a successful outcome for us. This acquisition is an important milestone for our Long Income Fund, and we are confident that these assets will generate strong returns for our investors."
The Foot Anstey team included Client Relationship Partner, Zahir Nayani, Transaction Lead and Principal Director, Philip Parrott; Senior Associate, Ayah Snober (Islamic Finance); Associates, Marta Sicinska and Harry Hawkey (Real Estate); Legal Director, Brian Hitchcock and Associate, Jessica Kilty (Construction); Senior Associate, Robert Davies and Associate, Kirsty Poulton (Corporate Tax); Principal Director, Karl Bradford (Funds); and Associate, Sophie Jacobs (Planning).
