Training at Foot Anstey

We like our trainees to stand out from the crowd. We look for excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Our Training Contracts consist of six seats of four months. During this time you will work closely with clients across a number of sectors gaining a huge amount of experience in different areas of law. At all times you will be supported by your supervisor and colleagues all of whom are there to help you to develop your legal and commercial expertise.

 

Virtual Client Secondments

We offer you the chance to work closely with one key client in our award winning ‘Virtual Trainee’ scheme.

Aligned to one client for the duration, you will effectively be a trainee for that client on a virtual basis, gaining first hand experience of clients’ needs and challenges whilst still being able to benefit from all of what Foot Anstey has to offer.

GDL and LPC Sponsorship

We are able to offer you support through sponsorship, available for both the LPC and GDL. On top of that we provide a bursary for each year of study (currently £5,000 per year).

We know that this can be a huge weight off your shoulders and lets you minimise worry and focus on getting the best start to your legal career.

What is the application process?

When applications open you can either apply directly for a Training Contract with us or via our Vacation Scheme route. Our Vacation Scheme offers a week of work experience in June during which you will be aligned to a team, gain invaluable insight into our business, and find out what makes us different from other law firms.

Quality work and clients

As a trainee you will be involved with client work from day one. We want you to put your knowledge to the test in commercial situations in order to learn how to deliver legal solutions to clients.
